Peruvian Organic Ceremonial Cacao
This is not your average hot chocolate — this is Soma’s Peruvian Organic Ceremonial Cacao, a rich, nourishing blend that’s as powerful in purpose as it is in flavour.
Sourced from a single origin in the Ene Basin of Peru, this cacao comes directly from a collective of 358 Indigenous Asháninka farmers, who steward the land using sustainable, regenerative methods. The collective works closely with the Rainforest Foundation UK and the CARE Foundation to ensure fair trade practices, protect land rights, and support long-term environmental wellbeing.
But beyond its ethical roots, this cacao truly shines in the cup.
Expect a balanced, nutty profile, a creamy macadamia-like mouthfeel, hints of gentle spice on the nose, and a smooth, velvety finish. It’s a cacao that awakens both the body and the spirit — energising without overstimulating, focusing without agitating.

What's the difference between Cacao Powder and Ceremonial Cacao?
Cacao powder (or cocoa powder) has undergone intensive processing to extract cacao butter from the paste. This leaves the cacao chalkier and more insipid, and also reduces the fat content, which is vital for the transmission of the neuro-active substances. Studies have proven the widely used method to produce cocoa powder (dutch-processing) significantly decreases the levels of compounds with positive physiological effects.
Soma Cacao's cacao contains the entire cacao bean (excluding the husk/shell). They add nothing, they take nothing away, maintaining the highest concentration of antioxidants, essential minerals, and bliss-inducing compounds.
